However to work with a home health agency that is Medicare-certified, you will need to complete the federal minimum requirements for HHA training.

With locations in Tuscaloosa and Gallion, AL, another great option is Shelton State Community College. They offer a 25-hour credit Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide program.
The career program contains a balance of classroom work, lab work, and practical experience you need to be a competent home health aide.
After successful completion of the program, you will be prepared to take and pass the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Exam (NNAAP). Passing the NNAAP will place your name on the Alabama Nurse Aide Registry.

Trenholm State Community College
For those in the Montgomery area, Trenholm State Community College provides a Nursing Assisting/Home Health Aide Training program.
Upon completion of the program, which consists of 16 hours of technical training and 7 hours of general education, you’ll be awarded a short-term certificate.
If you wish to take your career a step further, you’ll also be qualified to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam after you graduate.
